Tarkeshwar Mahadev, Lansdowne
Located at a distance of about 38 kilometers from the main town of Lansdowne, the Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple is one of the best places to visit in this scenic hill station. The temple is at a height of about 1800 meters and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Many sages around India visit this temple, thanks to its perfect location. The Deonar trees and less touristy activity make a great setting for meditation. The name gets it’s name from demon Tarkeshwar who worshipped Lord Shiva for a boon at this particular spot. The temple is bustling with devotees from Lansdowne and nearby areas during Mahashivratri, a festival dedicated to Lord Shiva.
